Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury (Erastus [VII] 2nd, 4707 AR)

T he skeleton attacked the heroes.   The skeletal wolf hound fought to the bitter end (again). The judge kept a potion of lesser restoration and a potion of bear’s endurance in two flasks in his desk. He also kept a potion of cure moderate wounds in a dusty glass flask. The old judge’s gilded masterwork dagger rested in an ornate emerald-and-silver sheath in his desk (the sheath was worth 50 gp). Clue: The heroes noticed the spiked chain belt Malgrim was wearing was remarkably similar to the rusted one around the Judge’s neck. The judge had also begun drafting a letter to Absalom’s higher court concerning Mord’s trial, but he didn’t get far. His final written testament contained only the following: Most Honorable High Magistrate Archamais Mazer, It is with great remorse that I script this. The chaos of our time has eaten many innocent souls, but this one was lost not to catastrophe, but to an evil deed of injustice. Lies have killed a man this morning and I for my part did nothing to

Undead: Undead are once-living creatures animated by spiritual or supernatural forces. They have darkvision. Undead have immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms). They have immunity to bleed, death effects, disease, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning. Undead are not subject to nonlethal damage, ability drain, or energy drain. They are immune to damage to their physical ability scores, as well as to exhaustion and fatigue effects. Unintelligent undead cannot heal damage on their own, although they can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. Unintelligent undead can still have the fast healing special quality. They have immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless). Undead are not at risk of death from massive damage, but are immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points. They are not affe

Sir Rekkart Cole's shadow sapped the strength of Aranthor and Patrissa. The shadow eventually wailed and retreated through the wall. The last toy continued attacking Aranthor and Zemurin.  It fought until destroyed. Clues: The heroes found t he knitting needle from Aranthor's vision under the bed, still crusted with dried blood. The keys to the iron door in the Great Hall were on a hook by the door. Additionally, a pouch behind the headboard of the bed contained 10 gp and 30 sp. Ten Varisian silk scarves, matching those from the Barrister's Offices, still hung from a rack next to the bed (worth 5 gp each). The heroes then continued their exploration of the courthouse. After they returned to the Great Hall, four lumbering cadavers, three human and one halfling, stumbled into view, moaning piteously as they came. Each one wore a rotting noose around its twisted broken neck. Madge suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked at the halfling zombie in the lead. Tears glistened in
