Eyeless old Tablark and Madge Blossomheart’s headless corpses sat in their appointed chairs along with another old broke-necked victim. They danced at Patrissa’s deranged command, lurching toward the heroes and attacking.

Patrissa's zombies did her dirty work for her for the beginning of combat, then she assaulted the heroes with her stinking entrails. She fought until destroyed.

Madge approached Gryxxa and tried to tear her head off. When Patrissa was killed, Madge fell inert and did not reanimate.

The other zombies charged the heroes, keeping them away from Patrissa. The zombies fought until Patrissa was destroyed.

The heroes continued their exploration of the courthouse after this battle.

Torture Chamber


Brutal machines to coax confessions from the accused filled this mournful room of cold stone, pain, and dark stains. A flaying rack rested in one corner, with an iron maiden against one wall; a restraining chair adorned with all manner of crushing vices and punishing screws sat like a throne at the chamber’s center. A rack on the wall bore rusted implements of persuasion: pulling tongs; pliers; eight-inch spikes; and an array of rusty needles, syringes, and scalpels.

A horror rested within the iron maiden. He attacked as soon as Zemurin drew near the maiden.

When he emerged, the hinges on the iron maiden creaked horribly, sloughing rust as the cover opened. His dried corpse, with dozens of horrid puncture wounds from the maiden’s embrace riddling his face and body, was wrapped in rotting robes embroidered with a faded symbol of Sarenrae over his chainmail. Ragged blond hairs still clung to his emaciated skull as he lurched forward and opened his jaws.

The ghast paralyzed one foe at a time and moved on to the next, disabling the entire party and then taking his time savoring Jule's flesh. He fought until destroyed.

On a rack on the wall sat three masterwork short spears and a magic heavy flail. The heroes thought this was as good as time as any to get some much needed rest, but unfortunately, it was not to be.

Seneschal's Cathedral The bones around this area are meticulously organized, creating a spiral of bone walls that lead into a small clearing. In the center of this open space reside the bones of a gargantuan dragon. The dragon’s bones have been carefully carved with the draconic word for “protector” over and over again. Despite their pristine condition, the skull of the dragon has been crushed. The heroes uncovered a green dragon scale embedded in a fragment of the shattered skull. The bones ringing this clearing are inscribed with a complex litany of protective runes, mixed in with bits of draconic prophecy. A single tongue of rebuke had been stationed here. It circled this area but did not attack until the heroes tried to leave the cathedral. The tongue of rebuke alternated between its breath weapon and roar. It fought until destroyed. Skaldwood Very few Shoanti actually reside in Korvosa. Skaldwood is a copse of trees just outside the city proper. The Shoanti who call the Skaldwood home have worn numerous trails through the wood, connecting the many clearings where they have established semi-permanent campgrounds.  The Shoanti living in Skaldwood are wary of outsiders, but direct inquiring Pathfinders to the local sage named Telmayne Fire-Eyes when asked. Telmayne is young for a shaman, and her tall, athletic appearance often surprises those who seek her out. She is shaved bald in the custom of many of her people, and wears a scarlet bandanna tied around her head. She seemed indifferent to the heroes' problem, and studied them with a dispassionate eye as they described the conflict between Zeeva and the Aspis Consortium. The Market Spirit, Part I (Erastus (VII) 15th, 4712 AR)

Once the heroes completed the ritual of the klars, they experienced a sensation of dizziness and that the world was melting away. The heroes were transported to the Ethereal Plane. The Market Spirit The heroes materialized in the Ethereal Plane in the same positions they occupied when the transition started. A ghostly, gray version of the Green Market stands around them, with larger trees, small hillocks, and Galdron Greenheart's altar occupying the space. In a small clearing of sparse trees stands a solitary table of stone before a pool of clear water. A simple camp with a smoldering campfire and a large tent made from animal skins and wooden poles has been set up to the east. Superimposed over the idyllic landscape is a gray, ghostly image of the Green Market - its wagons, carts, and stalls seemingly untouched from a moment before. This image fades to mist approximately sixty feet away, revealing a great battle being fought farther in the distance on all sides. The heroes can see
