Marketplace Bushwhack (Arodus (VIII) 15th, 4709 AR)

The Aspis Consortium thugs begun the encounter disguised as ordinary market shoppers, their weapons and armor either covered by cloaks pulled around their shoulders, or concealed by magical means. When the thugs were posed with the threat of an altercation with a band of armed guards (the heroes) the thugs were spurred into action to defend themselves. The thugs drew their weapons when the heroes did the same, and fought Jules who was standing between them and Zeeva. When one of them was killed, any remaining thugs attempted to flee the market. One managed to flee, one was killed, while the other was immobilized by Gryxxa. The mage of the thugs employed a crowd-control spell to confound the heroes. He was killed by the heroes. Zeeva was unarmed and ill prepared for combat. She tried to stay out of harm's way. She pled with the heroes not to kill the remaining Aspis attacker.

The Pathfinder members of the heroes received a briefing in person at the Society's headquarters in Absalom before undertaking the long voyage back to Varisia. The missive from Venture-Captain Amara Li was clear, and came to mind as the skyline of Korvosa rose into view over the calm waters of Conqueror's Bay in southern Varisia. Sendeli has a sister named Zeeva in Korvosa who owns a successful marketplace. A competing business interest is threatening Lady Foxglove, and her sister requests the Society investigate and intervene. "If you consider the matter pedestrian and more suited toward the local constabulary, I wouldn't blame you. Even so, there are extenuating circumstances. First, the competing business interest is the Aspis Consortium. It makes little sense for them to harass a local greengrocer, so there must be a deeper layer t

The Wizard, Part 3 (Sarenith (VI) 20th, 4709 AR)

The heroes continued their exploration of Imron's manor. Second Floor Chamber.  A plush area rug covers part of the floor on the west side of the room. A long chest of drawers topped by a gilded mirror rests against the eastern side of the northern wall. A heavy dark oak desk occupies the eastern wall, and a wide armoire is centered against the southern wall. Two paintings on the west wall depict horrible creatures – the first shows a huge monster with the thickly muscled, slime-covered lower body of a giant humanoid and the upper body of some kind of horrific squid with humanoid arms that split into five long, barbed tentacles. The portrait to the east is of a small, emaciated child holding a ragged, bloodstained doll. She wears a mischievous smile and has dark gaping holes where her eyes should be. A curious weapon rack on the western section of the north wall stands empty. Dark purple drapes partially cover narrow stained-glass windows in the west and north walls. These quarters
