Tongues of Rebuke
Construct: A construct is an animated object or artificially created creature.
They have low-light vision.
They have darkvision.
They have immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms,
compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).
They have immunity to bleed, disease, death effects,
necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.
They cannot heal damage on their own, but often can be
repaired via exposure to a certain kind of effect or through the use of the
Craft Construct feat. Constructs can also be healed through spells such as make
whole. A construct may have the fast healing special quality.
They are not subject to ability damage, ability drain,
fatigue, exhaustion, energy drain, or nonlethal damage.
They have immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude
save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless).
A construct cannot be raised or resurrected.
Constructs do not breathe, eat, or sleep.
The tongues of rebuke exist to serve the interests of dragonkind
by performing the most menial of roles and are typically encountered as
guardians of important sites. Their inability to do more than follow simple
commands, combined with their agelessness, has been known to leave them guarding
a site long after its significance has passed.
Each tongue of rebuke is imbued with one of the following
energy types: acid, cold, fire, or lightning. It is immune to this type of
energy and its breath weapon is of this energy type.
A tongue of rebuke has one type of breath weapon, a line of
acid, cold, fire, or lightning.
A tongue of rebuke that hits with its bite attack can then
attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
The scaled iron body of a tongue of
rebuke measures twenty feet in length and two feet in diameter. Depending on
the type of energy it was imbued with, the edges of its scales might crackle
with electricity, whiten with frost, glow red with heat, or glisten with acid.
An inert tongue of rebuke weighs two tons, but they are naturally weightless.
A tongue of rebuke can loose a devastating roar. All creatures
except dragons and tongues of rebuke may become shaken. Those close by may
become panicked.
If a tongue of rebuke is destroyed, its energy is released
in a blast equivalent to its breath.
They damage reduction, overcome by adamantine weapons.
They have spell resistance.
