Bugbears (Kuthona (XII) 2nd-5th, 4708 AR)

On Kuthona 2 a gang of bugbears ambushed and raided a work crew. The bugbears killed a worker and Sir Tolgrith had to once again suspend work until the threat was removed. The bugbears were ruthless in their attacks but careful to cover their trail. Tracking them back to their camp was extremely difficult. The bugbear camp was located on the north bank of the Coldrun River about 16 miles due east from Fort Thorn. Wall of Roses.  A wall of rose bushes surrounded a trio of crude circular huts. Even from a distance, large humanoid guards were visible, patrolling the perimeter just inside the hedge. There were only two ways into the camp that avoided the hedge of rose bushes and their painful thorns: a narrow gap on the north side and the southern edge that abutted the river. The northern gap was blocked by a pile of logs. The rose bushes were at least 10 feet thick all around the camp. The perimeter of the camp was guarded by a trio of bugbear guards who patrolled the hedge and kept a loo

Lizardfolk Tribe (Neth (XI) 27th-Kuthona (XII) 2nd, 4708 AR)

On Neth 27, a lizardfolk came out of the forest and threw a spear into the fort. The lizardfolk was gone before any of the guards could respond, although they spent some time futilely searching for him. Wrapped around the crude spear were a number of bone trinkets and a crude message written on the bark of its shaft. The message, written in Draconic, called for a “conclave of the mighty” in 4 days in the “Sacred Swamp of the Turessk Tribe”. Not surprisingly, Sir Tolgrith wanted to send the heroes on his behalf, with instructions to reach a peaceful settlement with the lizardfolk. His scouts had informed him that the lizardfolk numbered in the hundreds, making them a force that should not be angered. By this time, the path passed close to the swamp, making the journey quite easy. When 4 days had passed and the heroes were at the swamp, they found a band of lizardfolk approaching them. The lizardfolk were all dressed in ceremonial necklaces and had small bones piercing their snouts. The

Pointer's Rock (Neth (XI) 25th-26th, 4708 AR)

Rising above the level of most of the nearby trees, the ramp ended in a large flat plane of rock with a commanding view of the nearby wilderness. There were two level surfaces on the rock. The largest was reachable by the path and was 80 feet above the ground below. The second, only reachable by flight or climbing, was 120 feet above the ground (or 40 feet above the first level surface). After Neth 24, this place served as the home to four flame drakes. When the heroes visited, the flame drakes were here, resting and enjoying their meals. Three of the flame drakes rested on the lower level, while a fourth roosted up above on the higher plateau. While resting, the flame drakes kept one of their number alert at all times. This sentry prowled the surface of the rock, keeping a lookout. When this drake noticed the heroes, it quickly called out to its fellows. The three drakes roosting on the lower level breathed before engaging in melee. The drake up above remained on its perch and used it
